In the 55 years of its history, through your donations, the Inverness Garden Club Scholarship Fund (IGCSF), a standing committee of the Inverness Garden Club, has raised close to one million dollars to support the education of the community’s future leaders. These dollars, awarded as scholarships, have provided educational support to over 600 qualified students with financial need whose primary residence is in a coastal West Marin community or who have graduated from Tomales High School. What began as a single scholarship of $250 presented to one graduate from Tomales High School in 1961 has now become $1000 to $10,000 scholarships awarded to 52 students in 2014.
In 1998 the Club merged with the Scholarship Fund into one 501[c][3] organization. Thus, the IGCSF is a non-profit public benefit corporation, incorporated under the laws of the State of California, and organized exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501[c][3] of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. In its 81 years of operation, the Inverness Garden Club, in addition to awarding scholarships to deserving coastal Marin students, has worked hard to stimulate the knowledge and appreciation of gardening and its related subjects, promote the beautification and enhancement of our local community and aid in the protection and preservation of native plants and grasses. Cash
Cash may be donated in the form of checks or a cashiers check. Cash gifts begin working for the Inverness Garden Club immediately! Please make your check payable to the “IGCSF” or the “Inverness Garden Club Scholarship Fund.”

Perhaps you own a life insurance policy and really don’t need the benefits anymore. Did you know you can name the Inverness Garden Club Scholarship Fund as the beneficiary of your insurance policy?
Gifting an old or new whole life insurance policy with the Inverness Garden Club Scholarship Fund as the beneficiary and owner offers you an immediate tax deduction for the premiums paid or the cash value of the policy at time of transfer, whichever is less. Stock, bonds and/or mutual funds may be transferred to the Inverness Garden Club Scholarship Fund by your broker. Gifts of stock, bonds and/or mutual funds often generate tax savings and the avoidance of capital gains. Usually it’s better for the donor not to sell the stock, bond, or mutual fund; but to transfer the stock, bond, or mutual fund as is to the Inverness Garden Club Scholarship Fund.
Matching Gifts
