Grants and Awards

The Community Projects Committee has given small grants over the years to the schools at Point Reyes and Inverness for the teaching and food production gardens and for the landscaping. We also gave a grant for the landscaping of the Toby Giacomini playground in Point Reyes and at the Papermill Creek Children’s Corner, which is part of the Dance Palace complex. We also contributed to West Marin Commons for plantings along Mesa Avenue and elsewhere, and the Pampas Grass eradication project.

A group from CPC looks at gardens and landscaping by businesses and organizations in the area and awards one or more “Best Garden” Awards each year. In 2013 the Award went to the small public garden Rebecca Dixon of Dixon Marine has established in downtown Inverness.
